Local Plan – How and When to Submit a Comment

How to Comment on the Local Plan

Residents can comment whether you support or object, but the Planning Inspector can only consider comments that relate to the legal and planning tests of the plan:

  • Legally compliant – has the correct process been followed?

  • Sound – the plan must be:

    • Positively prepared – meets local needs

    • Justified – supported by evidence

    • Effective – realistic and deliverable

    • Consistent with national planning policy

⚠️ General views about politics, immigration or council tax will not be considered — comments must be about planning matters.
